Work Capy
Free on iOS & Android

A focus timer with something to lose.

Capy's in the hot spring on your time. Open something else mid-session and you get one warning. Do it again and he climbs out — the session is forfeit and pays nothing. Stay put, and he gets a nicer onsen out of your work.

How it works

Start a session. Put the phone down. That's the whole job.

Three screens you'll actually see, in the order you'll see them.

1

Pick a length, start

15 to 90 minutes, and an optional label for what you're on. Then the phone goes face-down.

The focus screen: Capy in the bath, a label field, and 15 to 90 minute presets above a Start soaking button
2

Leave, and he notices

Open something else and you get one warning. Do it again and Capy climbs out: the session is forfeit and pays nothing. Your streak and everything you own are untouched — one slip costs one session, never your week.

The warning card: Water's still warm. It won't be next time. Gone 7 seconds. Leave again and this session is gone.
3

Finish, get paid

A coin a minute, a quarter more for a clean run, nothing at all for a forfeited one. Coins buy hats, sunglasses, outfits and scenes in Capy's Den.

The session-complete sheet: Full soak, no interruptions. 45 minutes focused, 0 drifts, a 7-day streak and 57 Capy Coins earned
Built for actually being used

A timer that tells the truth, and a capybara who keeps the receipts.

Work Capy is small on purpose. Everything in it exists to make sitting still easier, and nothing in it exists to keep you looking at the app.

Real wall-clock time

Not tick counts. Lock the phone or force-quit it — reopen and you're in the same running session, no minutes lost or gained.

Desk Mode

Screen stays awake, everything dims down, and your phone becomes an ambient desk buddy instead of a thing you keep picking up.

He lives off your focus

Minutes this week heat the bath: steam, a floating yuzu, a bird who decides this is the spot, eventually a whole scene. He isn't proud of you. He's just very comfortable.

Stats you can argue with

A seven-day chart, streaks, clean runs and a record of what you actually got done — including the sessions you lost.

Gentle mode

One switch in Settings turns the stakes off entirely and Capy stays put no matter what. The app never decides that for you.

Share the soak

A tidy session card when you finish, if you feel like telling someone. Quiet reminders when a session ends; an optional daily nudge, off by default.

The stats screen: a 7-day streak, 6h 25m total focused, 9 sessions, 8 clean runs, and a bar chart of the last seven days
Capy's Den

Your focus pays for his wardrobe.

Every finished session pays out Capy Coins. Spend them on hats, sunglasses, outfit recolours and scenes that re-skin the whole app — Hot Spring, Golden Hour, Night Soak, a Rainy Window. Earn it or buy it; the bath is free either way.

Profession themes

Capy can be a programmer, a designer, a doctor, a marketer or — regrettably — a vibecoder. Each re-skins everything: his outfit, the scene behind every screen, the name he goes by. Buy one outright, one time, or put the hours in and take it for nothing.

  • No ads. Not one.
  • Double Capy Coins on every session
  • Their scene, on every screen
  • Earnable free — from 30 lifetime hours of focus

One-time purchases, never subscriptions. The timer itself is never paywalled, and no purchase or ad can undo a forfeited session.

Questions

The short answers.

Is it free?

Yes, and the timer is never paywalled. The only paid things are Profession themes — one-time purchases, not subscriptions — and optional coin packs for people who'd rather buy a hat than earn it. Buying any theme also removes ads and doubles your coins.

What about ads?

No interstitials and no banners. There are exactly two rewarded videos in the whole app — double your coins after a session, or top up in the Den — and both are optional. Notably, no ad can bring back a session you forfeited. A consequence you can watch your way out of isn't one.

What happens if I leave mid-session?

The first time, a card tells you the session survived and warns you. The second time, Capy climbs out and the session is forfeit — no coins, and the time doesn't count. That's the entire penalty; your streak and everything you own are untouched. If that's not what you need, Gentle mode in Settings switches it off and nothing can ever be lost.

Can I pause?

Yes. Pausing is free, and so is adding five minutes. It's leaving the app that counts — and pausing first costs nothing.

Do I need an account?

No sign-up, no login, no network required. Everything is saved on your device.

Does it play music or sounds?

No. Work Capy is silent by design — if you focus to music, you already have something better than we could ship, and it plays on undisturbed.

Sitting still is hard.
Sitting still with a witness is easier.

Free. No account. He's already in the bath.
